Here is a project I just did yesterday. A new client who is an actor/model wanted a headshot made from a picture he took. I had to take out the background and very carefully cut away some of the background you could still see through his hair. I softened it up by using the feather tool in photoshop and added some black parts in layers because his collar was cut away too much...check it out...
